It was $30 plus #3.85, shipping in Nov 97. It beat the $50 or so
they wanted locally or most anywhere I looked. $20 sounds
even better! Dad's complete Pyro was right around $100 as I recall.
I just checked my Mouser catalog and they list a K thermocouple
for only $13! It's range is only from -40 to 500F though. That'd work
for an intake temp gauge but not very well for EGT. :( It's the only one
I can find in there too.
I just browsed the Omega site and it has plenty of selection but sure
not as simple as buying a bolt on type K. If I understand it right you
buy a $17 probe, an $8 compression fitting and an $8.50 closed ended
tube then you have to crimp on the end connectors? Once you've
done all that the replacements would be cheaper than what I bought.
Or am I missing something?
Loren
