[Vwdiesel] diesel emissions test

Greetings from Seattle,

I just got my Westy 1.9td conversion re-licensed for this year after the
conversion.  I was surprised to have to use the dyno for the emissions test.
Previous years we did the stomp and rest method; floor the accel pedal, let
it up and the opacity was checked at the tail pipe.  This time was required
to "drive 25 mph in 3rd gear" and opacity was checked.  I passed with 15 out
of 20. Percent, whatever that means.  Before, with the 1.6na, I passed with
59 of 60, also have no idea what that meant.  The examiner said that
Emissions Testing had lost the contract and that the  new outfit- AGBAR, has
changed all the procedures.
