[Vwdiesel] Turbo Talk

It would be better to remove the mufflers and hear it out the exhaust side
rather than going with a k&N cone under the hood.  This filter setup will
result in hot engine-bay air entering the engine instead of cool(er) air
from the inner fender.

One of the reasons the A3 turbos don't make as much noise as the ealier
units is their smaller size.  Another may be their relative age/mileage.
I ran around in an 83 TD Jetta with a KKK and no muffler for a few months,
and it had very pronounced turbo whine.  My Scirocco has a 97 KKK factory
reman with less than 20,000km on it, and with no muffler you can still
hear the turbo spool, but it's nowhere near as loud as the 83 was.
