  Usually it's a one or two time thing unless the seat's sinking into the
head.  :(
That's not a terrible amount to be off, 2 or 3 on the intake and 3 on the
exhaust.  Could be someone set it wrong before or it settled.  I had one
cylinder do that and then there were no big changes again.  Also no
continuing degradation.  Just a shim thickness once in a while.  That
one was really thick though as I recall.
  It'd probably be more reasonable to just have a couple new seats done
and finish a rebuild with new guides and maybe some exhaust valves than
to buy a rebuilt head.  More "known" than a used head.  :)
