My thank you to you all who helped James Hansen and Nate Wall especiall=
y=2EI did some damage pulling the drum of,but not to any reusable parts.Pop=
ping the wedge up got to be a neat solution , NEXT time .Just watch me. N=
ow this one was a nasty due to a rusted interior of the cylinder.Even in th=
e vice is was hard to drift one piston out.I took digital picture and will =
send the to interested parties.Nice to know what holes (out of many) the sp=
rings hook in to.
On the BUBBLE flare issue I found THE answer.Yes the Dana flaretool is a pi=
ece of cake to modify.Looking closely at the VW bubble flare , is does make=
sense. And it is way simpler to do than the 45 degree double flare we do he=
re.Is is a one stage operation.I ordered a "die?" 8 dollars Canadian. Rathe=
r than make one.The cone on the Dana tool is pinned in place---no problem t=
he pin popped out simply by unscrewing the leadscrew. No damage. To reinstall=
simple drive pin back in. Hagar.
Ps: I have in my hand a complete RH brake from the 1980 , was taken off the=
car complete.Just blasted clean for handling at the PC..There is only one =
hole in the backplate, looks like an inspection hole for checking lining. So =
it is that one or like was suggested a lug hole.I shall practice on both an=
d let you know.Like right now. The lug bolt hole look like the winner.GREAT=
 GREAT.WOW.
