    That's really the only valid comparison.  It wasn't until I got my
stubby-legged ECO that I realized that transmissions could play that
significant a role in economy.

    The obstacle to accurate tracking is that the fuel foams up like crazy,
too.  It's difficult to get the fill level consistent, which throws off even
the most scrupulous record keeping.

    I'd have to agree with Doyt, though, that driving style is a factor.
I've driven my turbos faster because they will respond better, and that will
effect  economy.  The only truly accurate test would probably involve the
same speed over the same stretch of highway.
     Even if the turbo costs me 4 mpg, I'd still rather have one if only to
keep cars and trucks from violating my trunk space.
    And that says nothing about the winter fuel blues.
