I like Loren's bent small screwdriver trick. i have to
try it. I did my pump seal by drilling small holes
through the metal seal carrier and using a full-sized
seal puller in the holes (they kept tearing). The
metal kept tearing like a tin can. At some point the
seal let loose, but it was WAY much tighter than I
thought it would be. I was suppriesd I did not mess up
the shaft or seal bore. I'm afraid to do that again
and I have to replace the same seal in Jetta #2 now.
