[Vwdiesel] Upgrading to new VC gasket; valve clearances

Tonight I decided to install the new style rubber VC gasket on my new '85
Jetta D, along with the required non-shoulder studs. Unfortunately, moving
to a new house has left lots of things in the "yet to be found" category,
including Loctite. I temporarily tightened the retaining nuts while holding
the studs with an allan key, but assume that I should use Loctite on the
studs. What colour Loctite should I be using in this application?
Also, I noticed the cam sprocket end of the rubber gasket appears to be
designed to mate against a flat surface on both sides, not the channel
provided in the bearing cap. Do the new style heads use a different
bearing cap design? I'm a bit worried it will leak here, since the gasket
seems to wide to fit in the channel.

Also, I checked the valve clearances on my non-Hyd head, and found the
following: all of the valves were either .15mm or .20mm, which is within
spec for the intake, but out of spec for the exhaust, measured cold. The
engine was very slightly warm, but no more than maybe 30C when I took
the measurements. Should I be worried about these readings, since it
appears they would be slightly less if the engine were dead cold?
Where can I find a good (cheap) source for the tools to swap the discs,
and the discs themselves? (or can I make the tools...?)
