  Both yup.

You can use the larger pump or the even larger pump, just change the
pickup. Check clearance but it'll VERY likely fit with no problems. The
pickup will just swap, should anyway.

That plus the turbo itself is good for about 20psi in pressure drop.

Seems to be but doesn't seem to be an issue either way.

I never noticed this one. Interesting since the decks never seem to
warp. Not to be confused with the deck height. :)

> Tougher crank.

Other things I've read only indicated surface hardening of the rod
journals, which is gone on a regrind. :( <shrug>

Only thing I've seen elsewhere was the plasma coating on the valves.
They cost about 3 times as much. I wonder why they didn't just switch
to sodium filled? :)

You wonder why they didn't just do all of them (for the most part) as the
same TD block? Sure the oil jets would up the price as would the valves,
but most of it shouldn't have and with streamlining the building process...
I've put the 36mm pump in 3 different diesels and it fits right in. Should
work on the Vanagon oil pan as well. I have to do one on the Dasher one
of these days as well.
