[Vwdiesel] Angle gauges

Mike ...I have never used an angle gauge... after all you should be able to
judge 90 deg with ease and whether its 95  or 85 does not matter; put the
wrench on at some convenient reference point on the body work and decide
beforehand where the bar should end up! :o)

I'd use 3rd gear rather than 1st as its the engine you are 'trying to turn'
and first gear puts a lot more torque on the wheels.
