Yesterday, I dove into the radiator fan thermostat. Here is what I found:

The PO simply had it unplugged, with two spades shoved in the connector
running back to the switch. Wish I would have remember to take a picture
of it.

Well, I rewired the switch to be in parallel, and, so the plug could be
plugged into the thermostat. I plugged it in, and off we went. The fan
never came on (unless I turned it on).

So, whoever guessed that the PO wired it that way because the sensor was
bad gets a bonus point. Loren? :-)

Oh yeah, when I had it apart, I shorted the slow speed wires, and it
worked fine. So, the fan works fine at both speeds.

I am now off to find a replacement thermostat sensor thingy.
