[Vwdiesel] 94 Passat

These are Canadian cars I'm assuming?

We did not get the 1.9 NA or TD here in the states. The 1.6 diesel was
no longer an option in the late '80's until the 1.6 Eco was available
for '91 & '92 only. The 1.9 TDI showed up in 1996.

It is probably a 1.9 IDI. You should record the engine number under the
water snout and compare.

Any four cylinder engine should bolt right in. As far as power, a 1.5 NA
will move the car, but what kind of acceleration are you willing to
accept?
