[Vwdiesel] sticking caliper?

RATS !

Replaced caliper yesterday. On the way to work today (25 miles) car seemed
to work fine. AHA! I have it beat............N O T !
On the way home, car gets slower and slower, smell of burning something,
wheel is hot. $H!T, another $64 down the drain. HAve $100 into a
"new-to-me" axle and CV joints last week from some kind of knock. Maybe it
wasn't that at all.

I am left with these choices I guess.:
Wheel bearing? (no noise and doesn't always "stick")
Collapsed brake hose?
Master Cylinder?
Some kind of proportioning valve?
Something else I'm not thinking of?

When I took the old caliper off yesterday it seemed like the brake was on
"most" of the way. IE: pads pretty much up against the rotor, leading me to
firmly believe at that point it was indeed a caliper problem. Car had been
parked 2 days.

I am ready to give up. This is a $1000 car with only 3 months left on the
inspection sticker. Will need some light work to pass again. (couple pin
holes in trunk and needs rear shoes) I hate sinking $$ I don't even have
into an old vehicle, (we are very strapped financially),.,.....sigh.

Someone ! Buy it from me ! Put me out of my mysery.
$750OBO A warranty written in invisible ink comes with it.
