just some quick checks to do...wheel bearings, suspension bearings/tightness, all suspension and wheel mount joints.

Any of these can cause a similar *thunk* when starting up from a stop.

I know my A2 diesel Jetta doesn't have u-joints, but when I first
accelerate I get a little clunck. It is just like a RWD car when the
ujoints go bad but it is toward the front left. I have check motor mounts,
they are fine. Would a bad tranny do this? The cv joints feel solid.
