[Vwdiesel] Rabbit droppings # 66 ----- ( a matter of choice )

There are several people at Fred's ( www.tdiclub.com ) that have had their
oil analyzed. Most could easily go 15k between changes, and some even 20k
miles between changes. But these were people that had completely stock
engines and drove conservatively. People like me with chipped TDI's and
people like me that tend to drive more aggressively aren't always able to
extend their drain intervals as much, mainly due to soot levels and
different driving conditions.

I plan to have my oil analyzed when it's changed at 100k miles. I'm curious
to see how well AMSOIL 15w-40 does with the soot suspension. I'm chipped
and running a little rich. And I'm curious to see how well my engine is
being protected using a thicker oil than is recommended by VW. Some believe
that I'm damaging the engine by not using 5w-40. I hope to prove them
wrong. };-)
