[Vwdiesel] Throw away all those gears

There is a 6 speed available for the TDI, according to my Bentley
manual. Unfortunately, the final drive ratio is essentially the
same as the 5 speed. So there's no advantage.

In the Rabbit years, the 5 speed was also geared with nearly the
same final ratio as the 4 speed. On the open road there was little
difference. In suburban and some city situations, the 5 speed
had an advantage from the economy standpoint.

My guess is that we don't see economy overdrives because when run,
owners would complain about the vehicle being slugish.
