there are fairly large holes in the head to let oil
return to the oil pan. i don't think it would be
possible for there to be pressure in the crankcase
without the pressure under the valve cover being
almost identical.
as far as what happened so suddenly... no idea,
really. in my experience they haven't done that. tho
with all the blowby it must be rings. a leakdown test
might pinpoint it better.
