Now Chris, Let's not start this type of adversarial discussion again.
Hagar is talking cost comparison and oil as a fuel in the combustion
chamber. ----
Chuck
Thank you Chuck right on.
IMHO ---- good idea to take ALL information with at least a little
lump of sodium.
What is my experience and schooling on lubricants ? 72 years ----right from
black axle-grease on the hay-wagons to modern Jets. I do not like to brag about
my schooling ---that is banana peel stuff ---I would much rather be the Hillbilly who
can get things going. (but I do have some formal education on lubricants)
I talk to the refiners at Sarnia on a regular basis.
But for pleasure ?---- ah the smell of that black stuff ? --and the hay ? and the girls ?
what memories ---now I am a sick old man ---the shits.
And I see Finland signed on ? I am a (lesser) Dane tell us were you born
in Finland ?
Hagar:
PS: I like electricity so yes I have access to a tester that uses electricity (charge)
to evaluate oil. I have a home made one here ----50 000 volt stuff. not for
the timid to use.
Big industry has certain befits in addition to a paycheck ----The maintenance manager
ordered in a "Special" grease for Eddy Current couplings . When the price was
mentioned --- well I just had to take some home and do some tests on it.
Bright red and it sticks like shit to a blanket --It is Syn and it is fairly limber. If I can
find the name I shall post it ---it is working like stink on VW wheel bearings. If you
drive with handbrake on at times like me ---it really shines.
The grease took it in strides but my fancy red brake-drums --kin of changed color.
and the shoes were glazed for a few days. ---they are ok now.
Looking at the kittens this morning --I should have got black ones.
