Give us lots of information -- and detailed like number on pump for example.
IMHO the 1982 Rabbit is one hell of a performer (all round)--and with 3/4 plywood over
the spare tire well ?  ---a small truck.  I haul all kinds of stuff.

I have driven it with two different tranneys  -- first a GL   then a GC.    I like
the GC best for around town.

The 1984 Rabbit Turbo 1.6L ?  --yes that turbo is addictive. Scott Kair got me sucked
in to that one.  75 miles on a gallon Imp ?  not bad for a 20 year old girl . Yes engine and
turbo was never overhauled .  Just a ring and rod bearing job at 183 000 Km.(255 000 now)
