Yes, that's why I'm hoping the valve adjustment will improve things. When I last 
checked clearances, a few of them were nearly zero when cold. So they are likely 
less than zero now...
Loren also mentioned cam timing as a possibility, so I'll have to check this while I'm 
in there. Just waiting for the tools to arrive (off EBay) now... :-)
