Subject: Miser's monitoring method for Glow plugs
I know how some read my postings with disbelief; or make me
feel like the invisible man some times... ;o)
BUT here's my take on glow plug monitoring.
Ok you want 4 LEDs on a switch blank? Then change bus bar
for previously discussed individual wires; but go back to a
common point (not #4 plug) because each plug needs a wire.
Bare insulation near each glowplug and solder flying leads
(these will go back to the LEDs) the other 'feed' to the
LEDs can all come from the common junction.
As Hagar pointed out there will be a mVolt drop across the
fuse and likewise across the length of glowplug supply. Dont
use ballasted LEDs.
Glowplug failure will extuinguish LED
Is it +ve to LED anode for conducting? I dunno someone else
can explain... 8oP
