[Vwdiesel] steering column bearing

Is this one where I can put a hose clamp or a wire tie on the 
steering column to hold the bearing up or am I looking at a steering 
column removal for a bearing replacement? How far up the tube is the 
bearing supposed to be?


  The top bearing is pretty light and is pressed in/part of the ignition 
switch/steering lock assy.  Inner race might come loose to let it 
back in but if it found its way out...  :-(
  I found that mine was loose enough the wheel could be wobbled up and 
down and would rattle on bumps and so forth.  I swapped it for one in 
another car I was selling as a work car.  MUCH nicer!  I think a new 
assy is in the $50 range.
