[Vwdiesel] Caddy keeps popping out of 5th gear

I'll bet the ranch it's low on lube!  My gasser scirocco 

symptomed the same way and filling it up cured the 

problem, fortunately before damage occurred!  I got my 

diesel scirocco (back when it was just a simple gasser) 

 for free because the tranny was shot!  Guess what?  

NO lube!  At ALL!  Replaced a drive axle seal and filled 

it up, good as new!  That trans took a hard beating but 

afterwards it shifted like butter!  Just make sure to lift the 

driver's front when filling er up.  Good luck!
