Always worth a look at the linkage, operate it by hand and also watch and feel it as someone runs it through the gears. Have it
shifted into 1st and then see if you can push the linkage farther by hand. It could be the linkage is not pushing the tranny
fully into gear and with the engine/tranny motion as you get moving might be enough to pop it out. I have details of this
