According to what I can figure
out on ETKA, the AC pulley runs in the opposite direction of the alternator
( smooth side of the belt turns it ).

Huh?  They all are V driven, even the tensioner.  That makes them all turn 
the same direction too.  It's not until you get into serpentine belts that 
you start using the back side and that's usually just for a water pump 
and/or tensioner.
