The article states that the average mpg of these cars in the real world
is only about 36 mpg. The buyers are pissed and feel that they have been
duped.

I just makes me chuckle to think that my Passat TDI gets a miserly 43
mpg in town and over 50 on the road. I can carry 5 adults with ease and
still carry all of their luggage in the trunk. AND I don't drive like an
old granny(no offense!)
