but now I have two injection pumps that do not work.
Neither pump will move any diesel even with the
plunger from the cutoff removed. Anybody opened one of these up before?
Would it be
possible for me to take it apart and replace or clean internal parts?
Answers : Yes I have two pumps in front of me one NA and one turbo.
would it be possible for you to do it ? ---why not ? ---do not do it just yet.
There are ways to get them to pump if they are simply gummed up or rusty.
First tell us if either pump was ever used with veggie stuff ????.
First thing to do is make sure vanepump works. Use a gauge on outlet banjo.
and spin with a drill or something. You should get 3 bar at 500 RPM or there
abouts. When I do it I just block outlet with gauge and turn by hand. Do not
turn with power you may blow seals. If it does not pump there are two possibilities.
,the most likely is vanes stuck in retracted position. The other that the woodruff key
is stripped.( unlikely) Further before doing anything else remove regulator valve
and make sure piston moves freely and bottom "O" ring is in good shape.
More on this some other time. Note that regulator valve has right hand thread.
Govenor screw has LEFT hand thread.
Great little winter project. have fun Hagar.
