[Vwdiesel] Braking -- engine etc. ( injection pump as a brake ? )

The reason I bring this one up has to do with the VW being
sold as "efficient" . But the minute I saw the flyweights thrashing
around in the fuel at more than 5000 RPM . that is the most wasteful
governor I ever laid eyes on. A lot of heat produced and that is waste.
As you all know the orifice flow does not go back to inlet banjo.
Think about it. It is a wonderful fuel heater for cold places.

How did I learn about heating fluid with a paddle or agitator ? I visited
the worlds biggest windmill at Tvind Denmark. Made by a school there
and was intended for turning a paddle in the basement . Heating the
water for the school. It was a 3 blade propeller type windmill about 177 foot dia. They changed the design to a genset when they got hold of a used
minehoist motor from Sweden.

I know the pumps get hot , very hot , Could most of the heat come from
leakby at high-pressure piston ? rather than from the thrashing ?.

I intend to find out. Meanwhile it does help to slow us down.

Hagar.
