[Vwdiesel] american choppers???

one other question i've got, and you can all laugh at
my ignorance if it's obvious, but WHY are they called
caddies? i had never heard that term before i joined
the list and it took me a little while to understand
what people were talking about. i've waited a while
trying to puzzle it out, but i give up.

i've tried searching google, and found sites that
talked about caddies, but still couldn't find out
where the name came from or if it meant anything.
