[Vwdiesel] Mileage ---- ( for Bunny Bondo july 09 --2004.)

1984 Rabbit 1.6 L  Turbo  .   256-941.7 Km on clock. (old girl)   ?   20 years ?.

These numbers are indisputable (save a mistake by me).

Highway driving   50 mph   Turbo showed 3 to 4 PIG steady. I did not use LDA
at any time.

Result measured with Pyrex beaker . Better than 48.45 miles to the US gallon.

Today she was hillbilly TUNED to good performance with an eye on mileage.
not maximum lean.

Yesterday I drove to town for two lemons ---- I figured that fuel would cost more
than the Lemons ----WRONG.   --- go grocery shopping for the price of a lemon
in fuel ? yep   33.3 cents.(64.3 cents a  Liter).

For James Hansen  that is 58.2 miles per gallon. Not bad for a geezer EH ?.

I knocked a 3/4 hole with a Green-Lee punch just ahead of shift --and ran two
1/4 inch fuel lines to a glass jar. ---amazing to see as you drive how little fuel
is used.    Bunny goes 726.6 on a tank (Km).

Hell 40 miles per gallon and I would be HAPPY.
