[Vwdiesel] Hydraulics...

Let's talk gases for a moment. Skipping details I've long since
forgotten, the ideal gas law is

PV=nRT        Val

IMHO both Hydraulics (injection) and Pneumatic (Ignition) discussions belongs here.

A good way to explain compression of air is like Val said think of pressure as Voltage
and volume as Amps. Double the voltage -- lower the amps by half for same Watts.

Double the pressure -- lower the volume by half --- same result with no energy added
or subtracted. I think of it as Adiabatic and Katabatic rules. (LAW?)

But temperature doubles when volume is cut in half.---same energy. So if you want to
know your ignition temp ? 60 F day 23 to one compression --there you are.

Like Val maybe I am rambling. It is all important if you really want to appreciate
Rudolf Diesel and the Rabbit.
Val you better double check my explanation. (I don't mind being wrong).

Hagar.

PS: The pressure is on.
