Hang in there Andrew and learn --- it is good for you ---and the kids.

IMHO    it takes next to no energy to put pressure on a liquid ---that is the reason no
energy  or heat is apparent when pressure is released.  Due to low compressibility.

Now air (gas) is different if it was compressed using energy that energy is released
when pressure is let go   -- COOLING.    It works a lot like a steel spring. Remember
NO ? when we wound up the alarm clock ?.

PS: I am highly emotional about learning --anything and all. (at 72).
and liquids do not heat up under pressure (much).
