Might I suggest that if one wants to really understand how this all 
works, one purchase a copy of the "Diesel Distributor Fuel Injection 
Pumps VE Technical Instruction" book from Bosch.  I bought it a couple 
years ago off their website and it is THE bible for these pumps.  IIRC, 
it was less than $10.

Jim I do remember your questions from way back in December 2002 ---  and the
Bosch books are the way to the gospel truth.

I study every day , and one of these days I shall die or be a Diesel vizard which
ever comes first.

Never had so much fun since I took up HAMMING  as OZ8YM .
