[Vwdiesel] Compression check with Hyd lifters and Alum head

Has anyone pondered this question. How do you get an accurate reading of
compression when you have hyd lifters and an aluminum head without
damaging/galling threads. I have read that one should NEVER remove steel
spark
plugs(Injectors too, I imagine) from a hot aluminum head. Galling of the
threads results.

Anti seize. If they're wanting to take it in then YOU pull the plugs
ahead,
while cold, and put some on the threads. Then it won't be an issue pulling
them hot. Usually a lifter doesn't tend to bleed down THAT much just
cooling off (surprisingly) but you want the engine warm for a compression
check. The oil pressure usually comes back up while cranking since you
need about 8 to 10 revolutions/test but you have all the plugs/injectors
out so that the starter is only fighting one cylinder instead of all 4 (or
however many).
