[Vwdiesel] Head on 91 Jetta

The time in my life has almost arrived, where I will have the time to pull 
the head on my 91 NA Jetta.  I haven't hit the books yet, and frankly,
Bentley doesn't always tell you the most efficient way to do things, 
so I thought I'd put out a general information request.

Can anyone comment on the steps in pulling the head on the 91 NA Jetta?

For example, on the Rabbits, one would remove the two bolts holding
the exhaust pipe, to give it freedom.  Then the exhaust manifold could
be pulled while the head was still on the car, slid back off the studs, 
and then the head lifted out.
