No aneroid -- does not seem like
a good thing. How do they make it work?
Donner und Blitzen ---- Hagar is driving an ECO diesel every day of the week.
Now I am really proud.
Due to a pothole in my bank account , a while back I took the same line of
reasoning as Val Christian . -- Costly and a lot of junc in the way when you want to fix
things. And I do not need the exstra power (I am retired).
Then I wound up with a turbo by default. Scott Kair convinced me to at least try
it for a while. That was 05 Mar 2003 --- and I am still trying it. (lol).(thank you Scott).
It is a 1984 Rabbit Turbo 5 on the floor -- 4 door. ---- and I love her "Bunny Bondo".
Light metallic blue ----my favorite color. It has a 107 pump with LDA. Mag-wheels and
handles like a sports car. 74 plus miles on a gallon Imp.
By putting on off control on line from LDA to intake manifold we can now go ECO
diesel or dragster at will. To guess the power as a dragster ? 68 HP - my ass
it is more like 100 HP. Book say 68 HP for a rating. at 4500 RPM.
To be really ECO -- am I installing a cat ? NO.
Here is a bit about the LDA for beginners. Real name by Bosch ? Manifold-pressure
Compensator. ----- in this Forum ? Spaceship . It is mounted atop VE pump.
It has a couple of adjustments on it , one simple to do and one a bit tricky.
But what does it do you say ? ---- it is a airpressure servo and it moves the Fueling stop
same way as the Fueling screw. They work setting the full load stop that
we call the fueling screw. No it is not needed on a turbo it is an add-on.
The top srew sets the kick-in point for more fuel and the lower on "Cone adjustment"
set the amount of fuel. Mark Shepherd has fooled around a lot with these
adjustments so I will let him tell how it is done.
Exact explanation some other time ---- I have to dig out two small kittens and evict them
from under my bed. --2 or 3 months old and they outsmart me already.I wanted Bunnys
--kittens I got.
Hagar.
PS: Time heals everything ? --not what I got .
