Propane is heavier than air and can "puddle" in low areas.  The perimeter of 
the puddle will be the correct mixture.  I know a fellow who was in a kind of 
bunker when serving in the military when he tried to light a cig.  He said 
there was a glowing orb around his lighter before there was a big boom.  He had 
many scars.  Propane or natural gas had settled in the bunker.  The orb was not 
the correct mix, must have had a little breeze that corrected the mixture.  
He still smoked like a chimney afterwards. I would think caution is in order.
