[Vwdiesel] Turbo talk ----(Fergusons Turbo - dream? )

As I said many times in the past --- it is a management decision ---and if only
dollars are considered ---most of us should stay with gassers. The savings on
fuel takes a lot ---and I mean a lot of traveling. Performance is slanted in favor of
the gassers. ---MORE HP. sauce.

SO it is obvious to me that a lot of us are intrigued by the "DIESEL" and we consider it
a challenge--- sort of play thing. ---And why not ? ---I have more fun with these little
beauties than any gasser I ever worked on --- and I worked on Merlin's and Allison's
and tons of other engines. I even had a REAL McCoy diesel one time. And for James Hansen
I even worked on Kinners (He is making a replica)

Back to Fergus and his Turbo ---- from a pure management point of view drilling
makes no sense. Using the block does.

Remember the Turbo 1.6L is not a matter of squirt's or not ----a furball of changes
were made going from the NA to the Turbo. Stronger Crank ,different Rods ,Pistons
Valves -----casting alloys . If you drive it --ONLY--- just assemble it as is. -----it will work.
Put a better temperature monitoring on and TUNE it right ---dollar for dollar it will work.

A lot of misinformation about diesels float around on the internet ----and it is up to
each of us to judge what is right. -- and here is the killer of Rabbits : Love that TORQUE.
Diesel are TORQUE right ? --bullshit a Rabbit does not like Torque so gear down.
The Rabbit will work at incredible RPM's with no problems .

if you can't keep the

I could get THOSE

Well Ferguson - you are hooked like a lot of us. ---- keep us posted.

PS, buy the way, not to rain on my parade, but, does it make sense to
anybody what I'm trying to do? Or am I COMPLETELY OUT OF MY MIND??

Hagar.

Ps: Ferguson you fit in.
