Remember the Turbo 1.6L is not a matter of squirt's or not ----a furball of
changes
were made going from the NA to the Turbo. Stronger Crank ,different Rods
,Pistons
Valves -----casting alloys . If you drive it --ONLY--- just assemble it as
is. -----it will work.
AFIK the only difference in the crank is a little surface hardening. Jake
did a lot of checkin and that was all he could come up with. If it's ground
once then that hardening is gone and the cranks are the same. Rods
are the same pistons only make provision for oil squirters. Rings are
sometimes listed as different and sometimes the same. <shrug>
Valves are coated but then so are many Subaru valves and the casting
alloy is in the head not the block and I've seen a lot of NA heads run just
fine on a TD. Nobody's ever come up with just what a "sodium injected
alloy" is. Maybe it's less prone to warpage or "growth" during intermittent
hotter temps?
