[Vwdiesel] Unenvironmental Diesels?

Well....
Here's how I look at it. My '77 2 liter gas powered bus gets 17 mpg
when it's tuned to the gills. My '82 1.5 liter diesel Vanagon gets an
average of 30 mpg. Which is less efficient? 2.125 miles per lb of
highly refined fossil fuel or 3.75 miles per lb of less refined fossil
fuel.
You make the call...
Me? I'll drive the diesel until all the squished dinosaur juice is
gone. Then I'll run it on the residue of the local deep fryer.
