  Just got the Dasher back from a turbo back, 2 1/2" system.  He put in a 
"race car" muffler.  Meaning low back pressure, thicker steel and 2 1/2".  
Not all that bad but I like quiet so it's a tad noisier than I'd prefer, but 
it's 
my son's.  Dad's pickup has a similar system I think, and it's respectable.
Each system cost about $250 +.  He'd be a lot cheaper off to go to an 
independant shop, get a 3" system, maybe a silencer as well as low 
restriction muffler.  Most likely would get better performance, just as 
quiet, cooler EGT and maybe even a tad better mileage.
