My father had an Isuzu I-mark (similar cv setup) that displayed similar 
symptoms.  Initially the steeringwheel above 45-55 would pulse back and forth.  It 
got worse and worse, including jumping around.  My father continued to drive 
the car that way until it progressed to the point where it was difficult to 
drive the car at 35.  Steering wheel got a mind of its own.  Kept hopping around. 
 Finally, he got the thing stuck in the driveway with less than an inch of 
snow.  The good side would just spin. Swapped cv shaft, problem(s) cured.  It 
may not be that in this case, but sounds like similar symptoms.
