I am frankly surprised how many of you actually pay attention
to what I write.

On the lighter side , I meant to ask here if oil was compressible ?
In digging in to the injection processes , it could be important,
to know for sure.

And hows about the speed of sound ?? -- in diesel fuel ?.
According to R. Bosch and H . Tschøke. The speed is
about 3355 miles pr hour. A shockwave travels in the injector
lines at that speed . Every time an injector opens. And
we have a delay between injection start and injector opening .
Known as Injection lag. Important in timing at high RPM .

Enter the compression of the fuel ---- 1/2 % pr 1000 psi according
to Practical Handbook of Machinery Lubrication. And it becomes
down right interesting.

Oh and about syn oils --maybe I used those before Chrizzy was born.

The fact that syn is used in Jet fighters does not mean it is good for
a piston engine. In the turbines it is not exposed to flames. Diesel
syn that I know about are loaded with SASH.

Hagar.
