[Vwdiesel] Headlight options question

  Ok, I know this has been discussed as to where to buy but I have an 
additional question. 
  The other day the Jetta rolled into a tree while I was grabbing the 
summer tires (yeah, I need to fix the rear brakes.)  : P  It took out 
one of the negative lumens, DOT "aero" headlights.  I'm thinking 
now might be a good time to upgrade.  I see three options.
1) Just buy a new POS light and be done with it.  (I can get a DOT 
    headlight for $90)
2) Buy a set of E code lights and be able to see at night.
3) Get a conversion kit and go with the 7" round and driving light 
    setup.

  I'm looking for opinions and the cheapest place to buy each option.  
I know the conversion probably looks the nicest but I'm after price 
and function.  Not enough work lately, so price is an issue.  Time's 
plentiful for a few days though so I MAY get some projects done, 
like painting the 5000TD.  :)  Also found out today it only takes about 
10 minutes to strip out a 37 Chevy truck door!  (door latch has been 
stuck open long enough that there's still twine tied to the door from 
being tied shut many years ago!  BTW, if anybody comes across 
any 37 (38?) Chevy truck parts...  :)
