[Vwdiesel] head bolts

Sometimes the head bolts creak and stick when they are
torqued, sometimes they almost seem to effortlessly
turn in, like pulling taffy, you can feel them seem to
get easier as the turn progresses (almost feels as if
they are stripping out). I think all the chattering
and hanging up is under the bolt head/washer
interface. Its enough to make you go nuts. Do not
forgo the last torque. Use a breaker bar w/ a pipe
cheater on it and wear heavy gloves in case something
breaks. On one I did the final retorquing on, the
tripple square bit broke on the last bolt. No warning,
either, just snapped right off.

Its crucial to have clean, chased bolt holes and I'd
oil the washer and head area where the washer rests,
but make sure no oil finds its way into the clean head
bolt hole, or you may crack your block!
