  I've never drilled a hole in one and with cold winters, don't like the 
idea.  If 
you don't have cold winters, no loss.  Otherwise just be sure to fill the 
engine 
through the upper hose, then connect and finish through the reservoir.
  The reason for the hotter stat is that warmer engines are more efficient, 
which means better mileage, less wear, carbon buildup, smoother running, 
etc.  Unless you talk to a friend of mine that believes in 160F stats for 
diesels.  : P  At least he justified I wasn't "wrong" since I run "small" 
diesels 
instead of the "big" ones he does.  He does excavation.
