ALL 107 A pumps are "yellow dot" pumps. The 107 AG isn't. It's the part
number and that's what denotes it as a unique pump, as do all the other
pumps part numbers. This is just one, big difference between it and other
pumps.

You can double check the Bosch number on it 0-460-494-005 but the
107 a is a definite identifier. IF the engine/pump is known to be original
then the orange timing sticker WON'T say to time it to .88mm. It'll give
some degrees BTDC or something like that. They didn't put the dial
gauge settings on the yellow dot's timing stickers.

It would clatter pretty loudly, might sound like it's bucking a bit. Never

tried it though. :)

That IS possible but most likely your smoke would be white rather
than black and it would be an injector problem, independant of the
pump.
I've retimed a couple of 107 A's that were timed to .88mm. They ran
semi ok but had no power, slow to rev, not sure about smoke. Now IF
it was timed with the advance lever pulled out, then it might do what
yours is doing since it would be retarded even more.
