Seems like yesterday that Loren had to tell me that nozzles were
available for injectors. ----- Now that I have done and tested a bucket
full of the "Masterpieces" ---the worry was for nothing.

Everybody here can do those Bosch injectors --that's how easy they are to do.

Hell I only use torque wrench ---- to be fuzzy . Mark Shepherd asked about
nozzles ---so this is to answer him. The nozzles are clearly marked with a number.
The number is a Bosch number and it is different from the VW number.

Here is a sample of numbers Bosch DN 0 SD 193 VW 068 130 211. that
is the proper nozzle for the 1.5L NA.

For the 1.6L NA and turbo use SD 293.

Are there other nozzles available ? yes. like a SD 273.

So what is the difference in the nozzles ? very little except price. It has to do with
the geometry of the pintle and seat. Think valves , the angle of seat and so on.

The angle of seat will change how much fuel is injected in relation to lift of pintle.
Slow release makes for a nice quiet engine , less marbles --smaller marbles.

By the way a full squirt takes only about 1 Ms That's fast.

Have I tried say a nozzle made for a 1.5L in say a 1.6L Turbo ? I drive it every day
works like a dream. Using Hillbilly tuning ---I can not detect any difference between
nozzles. So they all work. I have tried them all.

My advice is to try to get the Throttling nozzles --- nice slow injection. They may be hard to get.
I am still looking.

There you go Mark Shepherd ------ To get the nozzles cheap is another issue.

If you have a brother in law in Brasil thats were to ask. I pay 14.30 dollars canadian for each.

Can injector pintles be lapped in like say exhaust valves ? --yes indeed I know a mercedes
guy who claims it is done in Germany.

If in doubt get NEW nozzles ---- and keep track of mileage. From first hand experience
new nozzles , saved me a LOT of time. No dripping and reliable opening pressure.

Hagar.

PS: It is raining this morning so I got time to write.
