[Vwdiesel] RE: Toluene

There was a scam happening mebbe ten years ago, black market fuels were
being sold to truckstops by the tanker full. (probably still goes on for
that matter) Guy shows up in a tanker, finds the gas station owner, sez,
"pssst,hey buddy, wanna buy some fuel?" the cost was half that of diesel
from the suppplier, just had to have cash.  So, he usually sold it on the
first try, especially to high volume truck stops.  Trouble was, the load was
usually toluene, rather than filtered off road diesel (filtered to get the
dye out).  Many trucks dead as a result- lack of lube wiped out the pump,
and improper burn messed with valves.  Had to be too hot and warp valves,
but the article didn't go into it.

Would want to keep the toluene percentages low.
