  OD is still OD as it used to be but someone thought the moron...  I mean 
motoring public couldn't figure out what overdrive was so they used "E" for 
"Economy."  Not quite the same meaning since it was just stuck on the 
highest gear, when used, regardless of ratio.  IIRC some of the VW 5 
speeds have TWO overdrives, 4th and 5th.  Varies with tranny.  The killer 
is that we're used to seeing a .89 OD with roughly a 3.50 final.  The 
VW's have an OD of about .75 in 5th but with a 3.89 final.  Seems a lot 
of transaxles tend to go that way.  Lower final drives with higher 
gear ratios.
  Dad's been wanting about an 80%, two speed "Brownie" or such to 
put on the Dodge pu.  :)
